About This Item

London: History Book Club, 1972. History Book Club edition. Some creasing to edges and fading to spine of dustwrapper, some bumping to spine ends and corners of brown boards, otherwise a good tight copy of this hard-cover book. Originally published in 1971, the book deals with the construction of the Uganda Railway between Mombassa and Lake Victoria in the 1890s, and with the political and military machinations by the British in East Africa around that time. A heavy book, packaged weight would be around 1300g, so extra postage will be required from buyers outside the UK. 559pp, b&w illustrations in the text, endpaper maps.. Book Club (BCE/BOMC). Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
