Overall in good condition. xvi, 299 pp. *** Third edition (the first two having been published in Paris the same year), of this translation by Jean-François de La Harpe (1739-1803), French playwright, writer and literary critic, with substantial historical and critical notes. There were subsequent editions in the nineteenth century.
