Description:
Tight, square spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Some tanning to the end-sheets and light shelf-wear to both book and jacket. There is some fading to the jacket spine. Jacket design by Sue Richards. Carcanet Press's Lives & Letters series compiled essays and correspondence by writers such as I. A. Richards, William Gass, HD, Ezra Pound, and, of course, this hard-to-find one by Pasolini. Included is 'Gennariello', a series of letters the writer/director published in the popular newspaper, Corriere della Sera, in the months leading up to his brutal murder by a male prostitute (most likely at the behest of extortionists, the mafia, the Italian government, or some combination thereof). 'I consider a row to be also an exchange of knowledge,' Pasolini writes. 'One day I noticed that in the course of an effusion of affection a Neapolitan was taking my wallet; I drew his attention to it and our affection increased.' 129 pp.
