About This Item
London: Longmans, Green, and Co., 1901. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Dark blue cloth binding with titling in gilt on the spine and front cover. Clean text; xii, 496 pages, with a four-page publisher's catalog in the rear. Frontis illustration and 25 other within by G.P. Jacomb Hood, R.I. Textblock nicely bright. Only a touch of wear to the tips. There are two faint library stamps; assumed to be private. This is a heavy book and often suffers "structural challenges," but they are minimal here. The rear gutter is starting to split and the book is a bit loose in feel. Still, quite a nice copy that presents very well. In an archival plastic protector.. First UK Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. Illus. by G.P. Jacomb Hood. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
