Fine original Cambrige pannelled calf with a lightly speckled fore-edge. five raised bands to the spine with a red gilt label [faded]. Some cracking to the joints but sound. Lacking the rear free end-papers. Heavy signature dated 1879 to the front free endpaper. The rear leaf if a list of books available from Cornelius Crowfield, Bookseller at Cambridge. The bookplate of Richard Bendysh to the inside front board. Strangely this has been removed at some stage and then re-pasted in leaving the cut marks from the original removal in the pasted down endpaper....[ the thief may have been rumbled!]. BENDYSH HALL is in the Hundred of Freshwell, Essex.. 1st edition. Hardback. V.g.. 8vo.
