One of Senator McFarland's most notable achievements was co-author of the G. I. Bill of Rights. He was elected Majority Leader of the U. S. Senate in the 82nd Congress. He was an Arizona Governor and Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court. He had a distinguished career in the Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches of government.
