About This Item
Oxford University Press 1980. Octavo softcover (VG-); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. I discovered this book as an American Studies student in the early 70's. It explains in detail the decline of the quality of life in America as technology and the loss of the centralized family lost grounds with the coming of heavy industry. A prophetic book in its time - I as a college librarian I frequently recommend it to those who want to understand this aspect of lifestyle in the USA and in emerging Third World cultures.
