Very good. - Small quarto [9-1/2 inches high by 8-1/2 inches wide], color printed embossed aluminum boards designed by Anders Osterlin.The rear cover is rubbed & the front cover is lightly rubbed. The spine is rusted. 216 & [2] pages. Profuse illustrations in black, white & blue. There is an owner's inscription on the front endpaper. The page edges are darkened & there is some minor soiling to the fore-edge & top edge. Very good. <p>Published in conjunction with an exhibition which was shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York City from November 25, 1968 to February 9, 1969, and subsequently toured to Houston and San Francisco.<p>"Historically machines have often been regarded as toys, or agents of magic, marvel, and fantasy....The story of how artists in this century have looked upon and interpreted machines is highly dramatic. Their attitudes have ranged from deepest despair to devotion and even idolatry.
