Owner attribution in ink on front free endpapers. Fore edge deckled and top edge tinted orange. Minimal shelf wear. Maggie Now is the story of an Irish immigrant girl who is torn between answering her own needs and catering to the desirous men who dominate her life. She learns to navigate loss, separation, and hope as she forges her own path toward happiness. The author gained early fame from her previous book, "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn". As a bonus, included with this book is a copy of the paperback March, 1958 periodical "Wings", the Literary Guild Review featuring the release of Maggie Now and highlighting the author, Betty Smith. The Wings periodical is very rare.
