Lippincott Co, Philadelphia, 1915]; xv, 422; dark blue cloth, titling in light blue with gilt design to front board & spine, top edge gilt, rough-cut foredge, a little rubbed & bumped at extremities, profusely illustrated with 8 full-colour plates & over 80 double-tone & line illustrations, dampstain at foredge affecting most pages [at worst, 10cm in length & encroaching 4cm into page from foredge, but most page text unaffected due to 3cm wide margins] ownership stamp of South Australian jewellery firm Wendts Limited on ffep. Kunz was an American mineralogist who published a number of books on precious stones & worked with numerous highly regarded institutions including New York's Museum of Natural History.
