About This Item

New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1929. Very good plus in very good jacket.. First US edition of this story of a wayward and dreamy Prince Edward Island girl, in the scarce original dust jacket. This book was expanded from a sequence of short stories; MAGIC is brightened by flashes of Montgomery's sharper satire under an affectionate exterior. Quite difficult to find in the original dust jacket. 7.5'' x 5''. Original green cloth with pictorial paste-on. In original unclipped ($2.00) dust jacket. Color frontispiece and jacket illustrated by Edna Cooke Shoemaker. 328 pages. Jacket with a couple small chips and tape repairs to verso, little section of loss to front fold, some soil. Book with slight lean, top edge dusty.
