The first illustrated edition of this work in the publisher's original red pictorial cloth binding with white end papers. Illustrated with eight plates. Collated, complete. 'Maiwa's Revenge' is a short novel about Allan Quatermain, a hunter who is on an expedition to rescue a capture hunter, and to avenge the death of the baby of the African princess Maiwa. Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) was an English author who specialised in adventure fiction set in exotic locations, primarily Africa. He was a pioneer of the "Lost World" literary genre. Four pages of advertisements and a twenty-four page publisher's catalogue to the rear. In the publisher's original red pictorial cloth binding. Externally smart, with fading to the spine and light shelf wear to the extremities. A couple of small faint marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
