Rider Haggard's classic adventure novel, featuring his protagonist Allan Quatermain. The first edition. In the original cloth binding with red lettering. 'Maiwa's Revenge' is a short novel by H. Rider Haggard. The story follows Quatermain as he journeys to rescue a captured English hunter and avenge an African princess. Sir Henry Rider Haggard was a prolific English writer, specialising in adventure fiction and romance. Most of his works are set in exotic locations such as Africa. Complete with the half title page, and sixteen pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the book. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear and fraying to the extremities. Rear joint is starting but still firm. Light marks to the boards and spine. Hinges starting but firm. The odd spot to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, binding slightly strained towards the centre but still firmly bound.
