The author, who won the Pulitzer Prize in the spring of 1964 for his coverage of the Vietnamese War gives in this comprehensive and extraordinary personal account of his 15 months in South Vietnam, an indictment of the conduct and leadership of the war, of the delusions of American military and diplomatic leaders, and of the falsified and misleading statistics foisted on newspaper correspondence and readers. He tells of the CIA, the Buddhists as a political force, the underrated Vietcong, and includes an incisive portrait of the remarkable ruling family, the Nhus. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
