London: J.B. Lippincott Company, 1900. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. One of the cornerstone books in any serious coaching and driving library. FIRST EDITION. Limited edition 1500 copies printed, most of which were said to have been destroyed by fire. Frontis plus 34 plates. Top edge gilt. 579 pp. Rebacked at some point, in handsome brick-red half-leather, over maroon cloth boards. Includes notes on public coaching, french terms, judging standards, book suggestions, etc. Preliminary pages, including title page, show edge-chipping with sevaral open tears to margin of fore-edge (no words missing). Some later pages show more modest chipping to fore-edge. Fore-edge and tail untrimmed.
