About This Item

Benston, Margaret. The Political Economy of Women's Liberation. Buffalo, NY 1969. First edition pamphlet. 16 pages, 9" x 5.5." Margaret Benston was a vocal Leftist Feminist and professor of chemistry, computer science, and gender studies at Simon Fraser University. This pamphlet contains a manifesto describing how women's labor is exploited by a capitalist framework. She writes that equal access to jobs outside the home is not enough to level the playing field, because "as long as work in the home remains a matter of private production and is the responsibility of women, they will simply carry a double workload." At the end, Benston includes excerpts of Lenin's writing. Very good condition.
