Anglo-Irish author Maria Edgeworth (1768-1849) was one of the most popular writers of the 19th century. here is the fourth book published by Helen Zimmern (1846-1934), the first volume in the publisher's "Famous Women" series..This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Not common. Brown decorative cloth binding, stamped in black and with gilt titling on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 305 pages, with 14 pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Mild rub to the margins; some stains to the fore-edge, which do not intrude on the text. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
