Paris: E. Dentu, Editeur, 1892., 1892.. Good. - Octavo, marbled boards backed with black calf & titled in gilt with decorations in gilt between raised bands in blind on the spine; marbled endpapers. There are small areas of rubbing to the covers and the head of the spine is rubbed & chipped. Half-title & 410 pages. There is some light foxing to the half-title & last index page & to the bottom edges of several pages. The top corner of the front endpaper is rubbed & there is a small stain to the book's bottom edge. Despite its flaws, a very good, handsomely bound book. <p>First edition.<p>A title in the series Les Femmes des Tuileries.<p>From the library of Alice Maud Livingston with her signature and the date 1894 on the flyleaf.<p>Arthur Leon Imbert de Saint-Amand [1834-1900] was a nineteenth-century French aristocrat, choreographer and historian of his times. He is best known for his accounts, often imbued with firsthand information, of the French aristocracy.<p>Maria Amelie [1782-1866] became Queen of France when her husband Louis-Philippe, Duke of Orleans acceded to the French throne following the July Revolution of 1830. This volume deals with events leading up to her reign.<p>The text is in French.
