About This Item
Yale University Press, New Haven, 2000. Very Good/Very Good. Octavo, hardcover, near fine in VG mauve pictorial dj. 278 pages with index. Abandoning her privileged position in society, Marie d'Agoult eloped with her great love, the pianist and composer, Franz List and later won fame as a writer under the pen name Daniel Stern. She was an advocate of democracy, the eradication of poverty and the emancipation of women.
