About This Item
San Francisco: San Francisco Call, 1906. Good. First edition, supplement to San Francisco Call; 11 x 16; monochrome image from photograph in blue, captioned in the bottom margin; 2" closed cut to top edge; a small chip to upper right corner; several wrinkles and crease lines; in good to very good condition.A striking view of the aftermath of the San Francisco Earthquake of April 18, 1906, it was published as a series of images of the devastation by the San Francisco Call - a San Francisco newspaper founded in 1856, which at various times, because of a succession of mergers with other newspapers, would be known as The San Francisco Call and Post, the San Francisco Call-Bulletin, the San Francisco News-Call Bulletin, and the News-Call Bulletin. It would cease to exist in 1965, when the San Francisco Examiner purchsed it.
