The 'Arundel Marbles' are a famous collection of ancient Greco-Roman marble sculptures housed in Oxford. Historians and collectors began putting these sculptures together in the early 17th-century and were displayed in the Arundel House. Many of the pieces depict famous Roman figures and gods such as Cicero, Sappho, and Eros. The sculptures themselves are fascinating set of ancient artwork which inspired Humphrey Prideaux's book on the collection. "Marmora Oxoniensia ex Arundellianis" is Prideaux's catalogue of the collection (and similar other collections of ancient sculptures), and the chronological events of the collection.
