Pages crisp, clean, and firmly bound in full brown, tooled leather. The only marking is an inscription in Spanish, dated 1972, on the first blank page. Front cover features a detailed, heavily tooled/dimensional illustration of a gaucho astride his horse, a covered wagon in the background. The cover is clean - lightly rubbed with a few nicks along edges and spine and rubbing to a few of the highest spots in the illustration. Otherwise a fine copy. Silk ribbon marker, printed endpapers. Book measure 6-1/4 x 9" and has xxxvi pages of frontmatter, 328 text pages plus colophon at end of book. WIncluded is a 5-1/2 x 7-1/4" 16-page booklet, bound in gray wrapper, titled 'A Fragment From Martin Fierro' the first 26 stanzas of the poem, translated by Joseph Auslander of the Hispanic Society of America and printed in 1932 as part of the 'Hispanic Notes & Monographs' series.
