The book and hard cover is in good condition. The interior of the book is almost new. Book has many personal and other illustrations. This book is priceless. It has first hand accounts from her sister Emilie (Helm), from her personal diaries, and from numerous documents and letters written to and from Mary Lincoln.

This is a true story of Mary, Wife of Lincoln. It was written by her niece Katherine Helm. This book includes first hand accounts fo her sister Emilie, her niece and other friends and family. It has several original copies of photographs, personal documents to and from Mary. And extracts from her war-time diary. The red pieced of tapestry on the book cover is from Lincoln home. It is a rare book and a fascinating read. Mary Todd Lincoln was a complex personality and in a subtle way influenced the american life in the White House and perhaps history as well. An unforgettable character.
