New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1947. First Edition, First Printing. Cloth. Near fine/very good. Signed first edition of A Masque of Mercy by Robert Frost.. Octavo, 39pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine. Stated "First Printing" on copyright page. Solid text block, faint toning to endpapers, otherwise fine. In the publisher's dust jacket, $2.50 retail price on front flap, a few chips to top edge, faint soiling to rear panel. Sunning throughout, primarily to spine. (Crane A31.1) Signed on the front free endpaper: "Robert Frost / Albany 1947." Robert Frost (1874-1963) was an American poet. He was the recipient of four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry, the Congressional Gold Medal, and was named the poet laureate of Vermont in 1961. He won Pulitzer Prizes for the following works: New Hampshire: A Poem With Notes and Grace Notes, Collected Poems, A Further Range and A Witness Tree.
