The whole intended for the use of those who practise in the office of a justice, to assist them in the various duties thereto belonging. With an appendix, containing extracts from sundry laws of the United States, and other useful matter. To all which is added an index. By Samuel Freeman, Esq. compiler of the Town officer, Probate auxiliary, and American clerk’s magazine. Third edition, much improved. Copyright Oct. 10, 1810, by Thomas & Andrews. "The first and second editions of this work were divided into two parts; the first related to the power and duty of justices composing the Court of General Sessions of the Peace. This court having been abolished, the laws which were the subject of its jurisdiction, exclusively, are left out, and the rest... are, in this edition, incorporated with the latter, and formed into one alphabetical collection; to which have been added such laws, passed since 1802, as were applicable to the work" --Advertisement concerning this third edition, p. [4]. Dated October, 1810. Error in paging: p. 112 misnumbered 211. Shaw & Shoemaker 20148 and Shaw & Shoemaker 22855. There was no flyleaf and oil from the leather has stained the title-page edges. Bound in contemporary full leather; very good. Stock#OB749.
