1847. Longman, Brown, Green & Longmans. London. 1847. First edition. Very attractively bound by Riviere in full red morocco, decorated in gilt. "Science and Art Department Queen's Prize for Art" to upper board. Beautifully marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Prize bookplate for Zacharia Pritchard for winning the Queen's Prize in the National Art Competition. Extremities and raised bands slightly rubbed, pages browned otherwise a clean and remarkably fresh volume in a stunning binding.
