NF/NF, kept in lovely shape inside a slipcase, the volume bears a stamp of the prior owner on verso of ffep. very tiny edge curls to the gleaming dust jacket. The plain white slipcase has light smudging and soiling, and the glue no longer holds top and bottom edges. Several slipcase edges have a short tear, one with loss.. Cream cloth boards, silver dust jacket with color illustration, white slipcase. 444 pp., over 650 illustrations, 356 of them in color. Bi-fold color frontispiece. "A 'collage' of words and pictures to portray the man who helped develop the technique of collage. Ernst personally supervised the selection of over 400 of his paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, and collages reproduced in the book. Also includes snapshots from the artist's own photo album." -book jacket.
