London: Erye and Spottiswoode; 1947; First Edition [5.5x8"] Red cloth covers with gilt lettering on spine, all edges trimmed; light gray dust jacket with black and red lettering on spine and front, red and black ruled border on front, white with black lettering of advertisement on back; 176 pp.; Minimal shelf wear to edges, a few small bleed spots of red cloth color on endpapers; Typical edge wear to edges and corners with some rubbing to surfaces, chips to top and bottom of spine, some fading of red lettering on spine, closed tear at top of spine, small red stain smudge on back. Overall condition is Very Good. Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965) was a long standing British statesman and world figure that has had a significant influence on world events in the 20th century that are still impacting the world today. This book is an anthology of excerpts of Churchill's speeches and writings grouped in ten chapters. The introduction by Collin Coote is extensive and well written.
