About This Item
New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1927. First edition, title and copyright pages dated 1927. With personalized inscription signed by the author on the preliminary blank. Gangster novel that was made into a motion picture in 1928. Black cloth printed in red, no dustjacket. Good used condition with some cover wear from use, good hinges (front hinge looks like it was professionally repaired at one point), sound text block, slightly age-toned but clean pages, no other names or markings. The inscription reads: To David E. Jones with every good regard and warm wish this book is given. "Jonesy" is really one of my gang, Chas. Coe, New York City, November 5, 1927. We think the first name is David but it's hard to read.. Inscribed by The Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
