It covers the beginning of steam power and early locomotive development as well as looking at carriage and wagon development, the role of signals and telegraphs and continues through to the Railway Age from 1860s and 1960. Some photographic Illustrations. Condition notes: There is some dust soiling to the external edges of the text block, and a little foxing or other staining to the front free endpaper. The book is otherwise clean and bright, and the binding is firm. Dust jacket (not price clipped) is age darkened and has edge wear, but is clean and complete.
