A directory of all the medical practitioners, including: The London Medical Directory, the Provincial Medical Directory, the Medical Directory for Wales, the Medical Directory for Scotland, the Medical Directory for Ireland, with an introduction which describes the duty of the medical profession when it comes to the law, fees, inquests, appointments, births, deaths and marriages, etc etc. Each entry gives address, experience, where trained and qualified, publications etc and, considering the year, if they were serving in the armed forces. There are several thousand entries, as well as advertisements for the latest treatments, rest homes etc. Condition: Fair condition. The main body of text is in good condition, but the prelims (the adverts at the beginning) are working loose (one page is loose). The pages are a little brittle and tanned, with some creasing to the corners. However, it remains a fascinating item and a useful genealogical tool.
