Book measures 210mm x 135mm approximately.
Bound in contemporary tan full polished flame calf. Spine with gilt-ruled bands with classical gilt motifs to compartments, and maroon title label. Green speckled page edges.
CONDITION
The binding is holding, albeit with the front board cracked along its full length and only attached by the cords, and rear board cracked to upper inch. Some general wear, scuffs to board edges, the odd mark, and surface scratches. Internally the pages are generally toned and browned and with occasional spots and some foxing patches, and with marginal toning to end-papers. Small neat ink inscription to top of title page.

INTERESTING
John Brewster (1753 to 1842) was an English author and clergyman, and was the son of the Rev. Richard Brewster, M.A., vicar of Heighington in County Durham. He received his education at the grammar school of Newcastle upon Tyne, and at Lincoln College, Oxford, where he graduated B.A. in 1775, and M.A. in 1778. He was appointed curate of Stockton-on-Tees in 1776, and lecturer there in 1777.
