New York: Doubleday, Doran and Co, 1938. Early Printing. Hardcover. Fair. Quarto. 9 x 12.25 in. Unpaginated. Fully illustrated with black & white reproductions of artworks. Fair in original orange cloth boards that have stains and smudges on the front and back, and some isolated spots within. Signed by Handforth on the half title page, just underneath a pictorial pastedown noting the book won the Caldacott Medal in 1938.
Synopsis
