Sydney, NSW: Mejane, 1971. First Edition. Five tabloid issues (43cm); photo-illustrated newsprint wrappers; ca.16pp per issue; illus. Light wear to extremities, horizontal folds for mailing (as issued), with mild toning to newsprint; Very Good+ to Near Fine overall. Uncommon radical feminist underground newspaper covering the Australian perspective. Mejane, produced by a collective of women, all members of Sydney Women's Liberation, was the first women's liberation newspaper published in Sydney. It ran to a total of 12 issues, ending publication in 1974. Uncommon, with no other issues in commerce (April, 2020) and a scant six US institutions holding any issues (Northwestern, Harvard, Smith Coll., U.Michigan, Alverno Coll., U.Wisc.Milwaukee).
