About This Item

Boston: Gray and Bowen, 1830. “Second Edition.” Four volumes; publisher’s paper-covered boards with cloth spines and printed paper labels; neat, small 1851 ownership signature at the top of each title page; some foxing and spotting; a very good or better set, apparently highly uncommon in the original binding and in such good condition. The editor of this important collection was Jefferson’s grandson, and also the executor of his highly indebted estate.
