The drawing, as per the illustration, within a drawn frame is slightly larger than the lithograph version (the drawn frame is 178 x 178 mm while the printed version is 146 x 146 mm) and, in addition, also features (at upper right) a tiny remarque in watercolour: the head of a mouse peeking out of a hole to observe the events of the drawing.'Pascin's first book illustrations.
