Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1865. Reprint. Leather bound. Very Good+. 16mo. Pp. vi, (1), 2-352. Frontis. engraving of Raphael by Joseph Andrews. Marbled endpapers. Bound in full brown pebble-grain morocco by Matthews, with stamped decoration on covers, and elaborate gilt inner dentelles. Five raised bands on spine, with stamped device in panels. Some slight scuffs to extremities, and contemporary name on front free-endpaper. A handsome little edition of a once-popular art history. From Cimabue to Jacopo Bassano, Jameson provides handy biographical sketches of 25 to 30 luminaries of the Italian Renaissance.
