Each volume has a private book label on the front endpaper. Pages have scattered spots of foxing. Volume 1: front inner hinge is mostly split, rear inner hinge is starting to split. Volume 3: rear inner hinge has a small split to the upper end. ; "Dictated [by Napoleon] ...to the generals who shared his captivity; and published from the original manuscripts corrected by himself." Volumes One, Two, and Three. With facsimiles and maps. Later cloth binding. .
