Houghton Mifflin , 1899. Hardcover. Fair. Larger, thicker, sturdy book, quality purple cloth beneath mylar, gilt lettering very bright on front, near-bright on spine, a neat Christmas note on first front end paper dated 1909. Tissue-covered portraits of author and his mother, his with a facsimile signature on frontispiece page, the photograph by Nadar of Paris, 519 lightly browned pages. Slight separation between inside of both covers and nearby adjacent end papers, but spine firm, top-edge gilt. Very slight surface wear to tips, slight wear to spine top and spine bottom edges. Near Good.
