Henry Colburn, 1828. Hardback (No Dust Wrapper.). Poor. Spine strips on all five volumes are heavily browned and scuffed with the title lables near rubbed off. Damage to the spine ends of Volume I with hinge showing at pp. 289. All volumes spotted throughout, heavier to start and end. Publisher's brown cloth with gilt titles to spines and blind decoration to boards. All edges untrimmed, later endpapers. Some spotting but generally clean. cloth a little worn to joints, chipping to spine ends, corners bumped. Very good. Following the first publication of Pepys's Diaries in 1825, Smith went on to publish this interesting collection of letters.
