23, Albert Road, Regent's Park, London.: George Findlay, 1874. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. VG, Ltd Ed, 1874. In full dark maroon morocco, gilt edge tooling, corners & edges a little bumped & worn, couple of small marks. Spine, gilt tooling, title in gilt to red calf label. Internally, black endpapers, 17 leaves (text to 1 side), followed by 22 lined leaves. With a loose 2 leaf printed sheet on the Llandew Church, Brecknock, signed by J Lane Davies. (260*200 mm). The introduction states -The following memorandum of the family of the Findlays of Coltfield, in the Parish of West Alves, County of Elgin, Scotland, has been extracted from the Parish Register prior to the year 1800, by Messrs. Drummond and Reid, writers to the Signet, of 21, Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, in July and August, 1874, under the direction of George Findlay, Traffic Manager of the London and North Western Railway Company, of 23 Albert Road, Regents Park, London... etc The earliest entry is 1651.
