Memorials of Washington, and of Mary, His Mother, and Martha, His Wife, New York: Scribner's, 1887. Quarto, first edition, pp. xiii, 362, 12 gravure plates, green cloth boards with gilt lettering and eagle/crown ornament to spine, abstract black patterned decoration on front and back with heraldic gilt device in center of both covers, beveled edges, flowery inscription to Louis Comfort Tiffany and his wife on flyleaf, dated 1886, with Tiffany's bookplate upside down on rear pastedown. Unusual item for the Tiffany collector. Condition of this book: Worn at extremities, spine ends fraying, one plate loose but present, a couple hinges split. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
