About This Item

[no place given - likely Tidioute, PA]: Privately Printed, 1902. First Edition. Flexible boards. Near fine. Octavo, 40pp., illustrated. A near fine copy in the publisher's red cloth flexible boards, stamped in gilt. Only the faintest dust-soiling to the front board, else really a nice example on the publisher's coated paper, clean, stiff, and bright, with tissue guard intact. A curious memorial volume, dedicated to the life of Livingston Legrand Hunter, a "somebody" from the small town of Tidioute, Pennsylvania, who, along with several others, lost his life in a boat fire on the Ohio River, near Cairo, Illinois, in April, 1902. This obscure and well-preserved volume of Americana contains several remeniscences, illustrations from photographs of him and his family and property, and more. We found fewer than half a dozen copies in worldwide library holdings, and just one in Pennsylvania.

Synopsis

"A publication of the Indiana Supeme Court's "Courts in the classroom" project." Culled from "...memorials found in a series of books called Indiana reports, and Indiana cases"--P. v. Includes index.

About Cleveland Book Company

We are proud members of the ABAA.

As a small, independent bookseller in Cleveland, Ohio, I deal in general used, rare, and antiquarian books, autographs, manuscripts, pamphlets, and personal and family papers in all subjects. My family has been in the antiquarian book business since 1971. Are you moving, downsizing, or doing some spring cleaning? Did you inherit or otherwise come into some old books? Or, maybe you've collected modern novels from the last thirty or fifty years. No matter what kinds of books you have, we'd love to take a look at them! We travel throughout Ohio, western Pennsylvania and New York, southern Michigan, and eastern Indiana, and will travel farther in some cases to look at whole libraries or even just a few particularly interesting books. Give us a call at (216) 352-3940 and we can talk more about the kinds of books you have.
