Frontispiece photo of Twain, many members of the Gillis clan were friends with Samuel Longhorn Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain, they knew him as just one of the boys, William R. Gillis recounts many stories of their adventures with Twain well before he published his first book, in fact, they were the ones who took Twain to Calaveras County to the famous jumping frog competition which resulted in Twain's first book. Front bottom corner bumped, bound now within a Gaylord Bros. Photomount Pamphlet Binder which has some stray marks, else very nice.
