About This Item
Green fabric with gilt on the front and spine. Very little wear. The unclipped dust jacket is enclosed in a mylar cover, but suffered some wear at the base of the spine before that happened (see photo #3). Endpapers decorated with maps of the American West (Nevada and California in front, Utah and Colorado in the rear). The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. A very nice copy, this book will ship at a little over two pounds. Excess shipping costs are included in the list price.
Synopsis
Irving Stone was born in San Francisco on July 14, 1903. He wrote several books in a genre that he coined the “biographical novel,” which recounted the lives of well-known historical figures. In these novels, Stone interspersed biography with fictional narrative on the psychology and private lives of his subjects. He also wrote biographies of Clarence Darrow and Earl Warren, and short biographies of men who lost presidential elections. He died on August 26, 1989.
