New York: Dana and Company, 1856. First Edition. Hardcover. Poor. Octavo. xvi, pages 17-460 pages, [1]. Brown cloth hardcover with title on the spine. Binding is in poor condition. Both boards are detached and the majority of the spine is missing. Light to moderate scattered foxing to the contents. Institutional stamp on the front paste down. Erased oval stamp top corner of the right front flyleaf. Previous owner illustrated bookplate of "William Monell Stanbrough Newburgh, New York" on the front paste down. Top of the book label states - "Souvenir Made From Lumber of the Falls House 1720-1914" (a desk? illustration is center of the label). According to Howes the first edition does not contain a portrait.
