New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1927. First Edition, Second Issue. First edition, second issue with imperfect "3" on page 3. Measuring approximately 7.75" x 5.25" with 232 numbered pages. This book comes with a brand new facsimile (reproduction) dust jacket for protection and display.
This book is in fair condition. Moderate bumping to both ends of spine. Gilt label on spine faded and chipped but still vivid. Gilt label on front board full and vivid. Moderate staining and scuffing to both boards. Front hinge cracked exposing mesh on half title page. Rear hinge cracked.
The subject matter of the stories in the collection includes bullfighting, prizefighting, infidelity, divorce, and death. "The Killers", "Hills Like White Elephants", and "In Another Country" are considered to be among Hemingway's better works.

Synopsis
First published in 1927, Men Without Women is an early Hemingway collection containing fourteen short stories that are beginning to show the normal Hemingway themes: war and it's casualties, the interactions between men and women, sports, and violence. "Banal Story," "In Another Country," "The Killers," "Ten Indians," "Hills Like White Elephants," "The Undefeated," "Fifty Grand," "In Another Country," "Now I Lay Me," "A Canary for One," and more.
