Random House, 1960. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very good plus/Very Good. Very good plus with slight wear to edges of boards, otherwise clean and tight with a touch of sunning to page edges. In a very good plus dust jacket ($2.95 price intact) with minor wear at the spine ends and corners, and slight fading to spine. Westlake's first novel, SIGNED BY HIM ON THE TITLE PAGE. Westlake was a prolific author of crime novels, writing under his own name and several pseudonyms (most notably Richard Stark). Many of his novels were adapted into successful films including Point Blank, The Split, The Hot Rock, The Outfit, Bank Shot and Payback. Westlake was also a screenwriter, and his script for the 1990 film The Grifters was nominated for an Academy Award.
