About This Item
Synopsis
Meridian is the second work of fiction from acclaimed author Alice Walker. Set in the turbulent civil rights movement in the American 1960's, this tale tells of young African American college student Meridian Hill, who is attempting to find her place in the struggle for equal rights. Working in voter registration campaigns even while dealing with a debilitating illness, Meridian learns how far she can and will go to further the cause, and keeps her beliefs close at hand to give herself strength.
