Henry Church Collection. Very good copy with some nicks to edges of original blue wraps of Quarterly financed by the American expatriate writer Henry Church and his wife, Barbara. The Journal was edited until the outbreak of World War II by an Editorial Committee which consisted of Henry Church, Jean Paulhan of the Nouvelle Revue Française, French writer-poet Henri Michaux, Italian poet Giuseppe Ungaretti and philosopher Bernard Groethuysen. Among the contributors to this unnumbered copy of a limited multi-lingual edition of 1800-which comes from the collection of Barbara Church-are: Swiss writer Ramuz, poet Jules Supervielle, English Poet dramatist Thomas Lovell Beddoes, 16th century French alchemist Denys Zecaire and philosopher-writer Jean Grenier and Barbara Church. 176 pages in French with French and German translations of selected works. All pages uncut with the exception of pages 1-3.
